well, i guess i know where this thread is going before i start, nevertheless, let me push on & mention my experience with schalk's power cables.
i picked up the first one from schalk at francois' place. when i got home i tried it in my vivere first, & was totally stunned at the difference. the music just seemed to be so much more solid. bass was tighter, & somehow everything just seemed more controlled. nevertheless, the cable was for the predator, so there it went. and i ordered a bunch more cables from schalk.
today i picked them up & installed them - turntable, phono stage, & vivere.
i haven't tried the turntable / phono stage, but the impact on the vivere is just as remembered. i never, ever believed a power cable could make a significant difference like this.
now i can't wait for the tritons. i had a set on loan before, & they were just magic. the high frequencies especially just had so much more detail, without harshness, & sounded so natural. but at least with the tritons i see that others here have experienced much the same thing.
i joined the forum for advice on a cheap stereo amp. i am now spending more on cables than i planned to spend on the amp,
i don't regret it for one moment. the whole experience of listening to music has changed. it's still about the music, but it is just so much more enjoyable when it sounds good.
& to me, the cables have been an integral part of that journey & experience.
