I need to pick your brains (and experience). I recently bought the MA PL300 speakers at a great price as a new model about to be launched. I am driving them with a McIntosh MC302 power amp, rated at 300 watts per channel at 8,4 and 2 ohms (yes, it doesn't double down). the speakers are rated at 300w rms at 4 ohms. I just feel that the amp does not control the speakers as it used to with my previous speakers (MA GX300).What is the rule of thump when it comes to pairing speakers and a power amp? Those who own the PL300, what amplifier are you driving them with? Thank you for your input.
