I am currently streaming Netflix etc through a chromecast ultra into a basic Denon avr-x520bt via HDMI. I'm bot much of a TV guy, I have a separate stereo setup for music.
I was wondering if I upgraded the AVR to something like a Marantz SR5008 with zone 2 pre-outs, could I stream music (Tidal FLAC) from the chromecast into the AVR, and then take the pre-outs into my integrated stereo amp for music?

It seems that these zone 2 pre-outs can be set as line outs for this purpose, is this accurate?
As the Marantz probably has an ok DAC, it shouldn't be too bad?
