A questions I think someone will have advice on :)

I'm planning to take the transformer out of my preamp.. it makes the Phonos' hum. Not in listening range, but it bothers me. Also to make space for another phono stage...

Would it be best to move filter caps and rectifiers out too, as these are seperate and movable; are these best near the Transformer or pre/phono?
