OK, so my trusty 720P LG died last night ... just went "tick tick tick" then nothing. No lights, not a hum, nothing. Tried a different plug, removed from wall .. it is a big paperweight. I doubt that it is feasible to repair due to the old technology.
Being close to christmas I do deserve a new toy, but, after spending a bit on the net, I am more confused. The BENQ W1070 got great reviews, apart from being quite expensive in SA.
The room is about 6 x 6, with the projector throwing to a 160" screen from about 5.6 m. Room is dedicated for movies, so it is relatively dark (wife does not want me to kill all sunlight). It is mainly used for movies. I would like to start exploring the world of 3D. My budget is approximately R15,000 - R20,000.
Any recommendations for South Africa ?
