Last week i took a brand spanking new dac to a local hifi specialist in Vereening.

1. On my system i can not get the usb port to work and play music from my computer. The usb port is extremely "loose". The DAC is brand new. unused ever. i am the 1st owner. i opened the box straight from the manufacturer
2. i asked them if they could just plug it into their system start it up and tell me if it is working.
3. according to the assistant it worked 1st time they plugged it in. NO hassles what so ever. Meaning the problem must be on my side and not the dac.
4. i asked if i owed them anything. The assistant said he does not think so but will ask.
5. came back and slapped me with a R650.00 bill.
6. All i wanted to know is if the USB port works if you switch the unit on. Nothing more and nothing less. It is brand new. unused and unopened. It means plugging out one or two cables and plugging in one or two cables and flicking a switch... R650.00...
7. I was not warn in advance of this fee.
8. I should have asked in advance. Yes my fault.

Is this a fair price to plug in a unit and see if it works?
