I've been wondering how many of you you have heard a major improvement by upgrading rear speakers and power amps. I've always been perfectly happy with hearing basic effects at the back and basic panning.Years ago I heard a mega bucks system at hfx, fith element was playing, the opening scene the spaceship panned through the room and through me, almost tangibly. The problem was the dealers show room was perfect acoustically and speaker placement was spot on done via software as I was told?( not possible in most media rooms) what has your personal experience been? Most people I know use some form of rears or old fronts migrated to rears.
Please keep answers to 5.1 / 7.1 only systems and no dedicated home theater setups where everything is perfect.
Preferably someone's lounge or media room with wall mount speakers/ ceiling speakers or inwall speakers.
