I have recently bought an abused Rega Planar 3 from Matomehb from this thread:

In this thread I will discuss the restoration process and progress, and hopefully along the way get some valuable information from members as well. So please feel free to make suggestions and comments if you think I'm on the wrong track.
The overall condition are as follow:
- Sub platter needed the shaft to hold the glass platter and record.
- No belt
- The "'o-ring" that holds the motor is warn and needs replacement.
- The arm looks is good condition. In the original thread it looks worse than it really is. The only issue is the finger lift on the head has broken off.
- I haven't tested the motor yet, but hope that its still okay. It has a little bit of play when moving the shaft in and out, and the plastic cover at the back of the shaft is gone.
- Plinth is functional but needs cosmetic surgery.
It sounds like a lot, but I don't think its actually that bad.
So let the surgery begin. ;D ;D ;D
