Remote - increasing remote IR to the devices (AMP)

So I have my Yamaha amp sitting in my theatre section and in my chill section about 120 degrees from the amp the IR on the Yamaha seems really poor the angle is like 15 degree's before it picks up any command. Anyone know of some way of improving this?
