Good morning Forumites

I need to know how to remove the platter on the Technics SL-D212 for cleaning? u purchased a 2nd hand one and its a bit tarnished. pulling on the platter in an attempt to lift it feels pretty stuck. I dont want to just yank it in fear of causing damage. could anyone advise please?
