A week after we bought PS2 game Ben 10 Utimate Alien Cosmic Destruction it went faulty. Doesn't want to play after pressing "Start". I inspected the disc and, yes, there are some scratches. Very small, but not of the kind that I would normally expect to give problems. Too late to return the disc, as it is no longer pristine, I thought of polishing out the scratches. My thoughts first went to the Glomail CD Clinic but, after doing some research, it seems that all it does is clean, not remove scratches. Well, my boys know the drill of how to clean off finger marks; we don't need that. I tried polishing with Brasso after some advice given on these forums and elsewhere, but it actually makes the disc surface hazy (very fine scratches).
What can I try that actually works? It seems the Brasso might be good as a first-pass to take off bad scratches, but needs finer buffing subsequently.
