I have finally got my PM-84 back from a friend. The amp is working for the most part. Currently the Phono section is not working, and the headphone out seems to be dead. There is bass missing from the left channel.
I love the amp very much and would like to get it restored. I would like to replace the CAPs with Mundorfs. Clean the copper screws. Replace any wiring I can with better quality stuff. Replace the speaker terminals with something better. Put an IEC plug input. Wood Panels, etc etc. I have already sent the amp to one gentleman, supplied new caps (which never made it into the amp) and expected the unit to return fully working. Sadly it was a costly mistake.
Well now I'm ready to try again. Can anybody recommend somebody who will be willing to carefully restore the amplifier for me? I really want to get it back to perfect (or close to) condition. I plan on keeping the amp for a long time.
