Rotel RDD 980 Transport

Guys my Rotel transport decided to retire. The plastic gear that opens the tray has stripped and therefore cannot open. Rotel SA in Cape Town does not deal in these products anymore. Where on earth would I be able to  get hold of a spare . The unit is in fantastic form. Rudi has helped to modify the DAC and it sounds like a R30K machine. I don't just want to discard the unit just because the plastic gear decide it has had enough. Could anybody please help me..
