Router reccomendations

Hi all. Fibre is getting installed soon.

I didn't want to take the router supplied as the reviews weren't great on it.

My requirements would be,

Get the best wifi coverage possible (don't want access points everywhere as I have now)

Be able to at least configure Mac whitelisting

Support for router based VPN but not critical.

Would appreciate any input.
