I needed a couple of things, so I thought to go to RS to be able to pick them up in person, make sure it was all right, get some advice.

What you do is stand there for hours as some inept halfwit uses EXACTLY THE SAME website you'd use to order online (but at glacial pace because he's a bit useless and knows nothing at all about the products), and then laboriously copies and pastes part numbers from there into the SAP system (no, he can't just add them to a basket and check it out), and then disappears for fifteen minutes to pick the order.

And then to add insult to injury, they then (contrary to SARS regs) still add on VAT.

The most jaw droppingly useless, time consuming, frustrating and fruitless hardware buying experience I've ever had. And that's years of standing in lines at hardware suppliers.

Also -- several of the part numbers in the catalogue did not match what they were meant to be.

Please tell me Communica or Rabtron Joburg are slightly better?

At least Communica and  Mantech in CT guys had a bit of a clue.
