I run a stereo 2.1 setup so no AVR with HDMI ARC functionality etc.
TV connected via optical to DAC and from DAC its RCA to stereo integrated. Sound is ok to good but when I play the same movie or tv series via JRiver (USB to DAC via RCA to amp) I have to turn volume down quite a bit as via JRiver everything just seems to attack you with way more authority which I love!
Running via TV apps>optical needs me to physically increase the volume on sub to make more of an impact... JRiver just seems to attack and immerse you way better!
Just curious to know if anyone else using a stereo setup like mine are experiencing the same...?
Do not bring any Atmos and surround talk into the conversation as I'm specifically talking stereo only!
