My new Audio-GD amp/DAC came with some small, thin rubber "washers" on each corner that barely lifted the unit above the surface of my desk. As I mentally marked this down as cost-saving of the worst kind I started thinking about what to use to raise and isolate the unit. Since it's Class A it runs pretty warm and there are vents on the bottom panel that could not work very efficiently as it was.
Happened to be in a local top-end HI-Fi store on the weekend and noticed a pack of 4 rubber feet for sale at R550. They were very high quality I'm sure, but 500 bucks for 4 chunks of rubber? Not in this lifetime.
Stopped at a hardware store on my way home and bought 4 of these for R6 each - they fit over the existing "washers" perfectly and raise the unit to just the right level IMHO. A penny saved as they say...
