Hi All. Need some help. I have a Sony STR-DH540 Receiver that does not switch on. Standby light is on, turns green when I hit the power on the remote or on the receiver itself. Stays green for about +-10 seconds then switches back to red.
Prior to it refusing to come on a ' Protector' error message popped up on the display. I checked wiring and noticed the centre speaker wires were touching. After sorting out the amp worked then the next day we had a power outage for about 8 hours. When power was restored it worked that afternoon and then has been dead from the next day.
I used all the troubleshooting advice off the manual and Sony website with no luck. I pulled out main power for 24 hours and removed all wiring off the channels.
Looking for any advice/suggestions. I'm based in Roodepoort, Johannesburg. Should all else fail can someone point me in the direction of a repairer in JHB who can check it out for me. I searched the site and see someone named Roland in JHB, any feedback on his service.
