What is the source of your music? Do you use PC with flac files or do you still put a CD or LP on and why are you using that source?
I am using a PC which is connected to a 42" LED TV with JRiver. I do find it extremely convenient.
*First off, I do not need a remote control for my amplifier. The mouse controls everything wireless from my favorite listening spot.
*My entire music collection is available at a click, either in my lounge or bedroom. I don't have to get up and change a CD or put on a LP. Some of my flac files have been ripped from CD and some from LP.
*I can delete songs. If I don't like a track on a album I never have to hear it again. I don't have to push any buttons to skip it.
*I have various playlists such as favorite, classical, sad, gym, ambient, etc, that I use pending on my mood. I don't have to listen to a whole album, there is variety. Of course, I do listen to whole albums at times.
*Having a large collection of music, playing music with the random setting, is great, you hear tracks you would not normally have chosen to listen to if you had to put a CD in... It's like listening to the radio, except, it only plays your music, or if you like, all your favorites.
*Visualizations. I use G-Force visualization software. Gives a visual element to my music and helps to draw me in. At times, it can even become a trans-like experience. I do find it distracting at times and don't use it all the time.
