South Africa DTT : Anybody knows something?

Hi all

Two questions that I have been unable to find answers to:

1. When will the DTT signal begin to be broadcast in SA?  Broadcast in such a manner that one can receive it.

2. When it does (or if it already is) will the new smart TVs with digital tuners be able to display it, or will it be thing-a-magicked to require specific STBs sold by cronnies?
