Speaker spikes

I currently have my B&W 602.5 speakers sitting on a wooden floor and whenever there's a bit of bass at louder volumes, the desk and stuff start rattling a bit.

So my question is, should I buy a small carpet to go underneath each speaker so that I can use the speakers' spikes?
