Hi All !
I need assistance again please.
I bought a set of Klipsch RF62ii's about 2 months ago because I wanted a set of floor standers that could do "loud" without losing too much clarity. Unfortunately I got used to the sound of my Polk Audio Rti8's, and think they are better sounding than the Klipsches (Yes Uncle Rodney, I know you told me so !!!). I'm light years away from being an audiophile, so please don't shoot me when I use the wrong descriptive terms. I bought 3x different amps/cdp's, and a DAC (also use lossless files) in one month to see if that would make a difference to the sound, but it made no major difference. I only listen to stereo, music mainly being 80, 90's, and Rock.
Ok, so ideally I'm looking for speakers with the following traits (if not too much to ask, or too expensive !?!?)
- Something with a "warm", "rounded" "natural" sound.
- High frequencies should not feel like someone is stabbing you with a knife.
- Bass should be adequate (no need for a sub)
- Fairly loud (at least 110 dB SPL)
At this stage I can only scrape together about 20K, so I gather the choices are small.
Any input will be appreciated !
Thanks
