Had enough of waiting, having another EBAY parcel sitting at JIMS, that I received a SMS notification to collect, took leave and waited in the queue... :headbanger:
Insisted that the parcel containing the SPL Phonitor Mini is very important (having eventually getting the local tracking number) and low and behold it was retrieved from the mountain of unclaimed parcels... Parcel had some cosmetic damage but the headphone amplifier was very well packed within another smaller box. It was covered with film to bottom plate in box to prevent bouncing around inside.
Paid custom duties and off I went...
Initial listening test are very promising, non existent noise floor from balanced source with AKG K240 MKII. Plenty of micro detail. Listening much louder than usual, mostly because of very little listening fatigue and great overall tonal presentation. Still much listening to do and experimentation with matrix/crossfeed.
Will try Grado SR80i, AKG K501, Q701 and Audeze LCD2's later...
