Stains on floor tiles

Hi fellow forumites,
My floor tiles in my house are continuously getting random stains on them, even in plaaaces where nothing gets spilled. It seems that the floor tiles are porous and things look like they are soaking into the tile, although I have no idea how or why. Has anyone come across anything like this before?

Secondly, I will snap a few pics and post them up tomorrow so you have a better idea of what I am talking about.
