Good All,
I'm in need for advise on a potential acquisition of a Stanton STR8-50 belt drive turntable with skip resistant straight tone arm. Theses are specification(selling points):+/- 10% pitch adjustment , Start/Stop input, Retractable target light, Aluminum platter, Strobe indicator and Removable dust cover with slipmat. There is a pair of these available and the seller could like to sell both at R8 000 or indviually at R4 000 each.
I'll be using them to occasionally listen to old records and will be slowing buying newer records in the future. Would this be a good buy and what are the defects that I should look out for when testing these units? Should I rather get a Technics Direct Drive SL-D202 which is also on the market?
