Starter av receiver (Hdmi)

Hi guys, new to this forum and also new to home theater equipment

Currently i have a htpc  hp microserver, hdpvr. This play directly to my full hd tv samsung.


Space is a concern so i cant go big.

Was thinking abt a blu ray all in 1 system, but then i have no room for future upgrades.
Should i get a entry level av receiver with say 2 speakers
Then later add a sub and other surround sound?

If so, could you provide some links to a starter system.

If it matters, im more in it for the movies than the music.
