When I turn on the Hi Fi after not using it for over a week and listen to a CD, ,the sound comes across as harsh and "not quite right".
This weekend I decided to give a tip I got from the forum a try, which was to just switch the amp and CD player on and leave it for 2 hours before using (after not using it for 2 weeks).
It makes a difference for sure, even though this is a solid state (transistors not vacuum) unit, so heating up is not only for Vacuum tubers, even solid state chip's benefit. It would have been better I suppose if something was played to loosen up the speakers as well.
The sound was back to being transparent, warm with the instruments and voice exactly where one would expect them to be.
Great tip and something I'll be doing on a regular basis.
