I went looking for some 'button'-type batteries for one of my cartridge scales yesterday - type 357/LR44.
The place where I usually buy from wanted R30 each. Clicks had a 4-pack Energizer brand for R49,95. Being particular in the past about only buying battery brands known to last well, this 'argument' with myself is no longer really valid as in recent times, branded batteries I bought also became useless much sooner than I expected - sometimes lasting only a month or two.
I usually retain the packaging and write the install date on them or otherwise scribe the install date on them so I know how long the batteries were in use.
I decided against the 4-pack Energizer batteries from Clicks as I recently bought 2 lithium batteries for my car key and these were so flat the key's led didn't even light up.
So I went to the Crazy Store, Maynard Mall Wynberg and bought a large blister pack branded Daily Power containing 6X type 364, 6X type 392, 6X type 377, 3X type 389, 3X type 386, and 6X type 357 - 30 alkaline batteries for all of R22.-.
Enough batteries for both my cartridge scales and more than enough for every single wristwatch in my house.
A blister pack of two lithium batteries for my car keys was only R11 - against R80 for two from the place I always bought them from.
Time will tell how long these batteries will last but I think I got a good deal.
I have bought several types of Daily Power brand batteries from Crazy Store before - AA, AAA, C- and 9V and am quite happy with how long they last.
No affiliation with Crazy Store or Daily Power, BTW.
