Rightly or wrongly I know they get a lot of flack in these parts.
What I am wondering is what has led to their steady decline? When I first moved to Cape Town the closest HiFi corp to me was the Rondebosch branch. That place heaved. They shifted goods like nothing else. The parking was full and the masses of people amazing.
That store has closed now as has the flop of a store close to me that opened and closed in four years and never really took off.
Was it the changing market? When they stopped having such a big price advantage with their original 'grey imports'? Did they just happen to ride the wave of the initial switch from CRT TV's to flatscreens?
