I went to Cash Converters yesterday and picked up a pair of their 1,5m Balanced cables to use between my preamp and power amp.  Cost R59,90 each.  I wasn't expecting much.  But I was really impressed.  Yes they're cheap and so are their plugs, but what interconnects do you get for R120 a pair today?  The sound was quite smooth, and personally i think they will give any pair of XLR interconnects in the R500-1000 price range a good run for the money.

Gonna leave them in for a while and see if my opinion is confirmed down the line.  I don't have any other XLR's to compare them to, but I already prefer these to the QED RCA's they've just replaced.  And the QED's would go for R400-600 second hand.  Best buy I've made in the cable department in a LONG time.  I can't guarantee that anyone else will like them, but for R120 for a set, I ain't complaining
