Hi guys and Judy
The time has come to say goodbye to my 2015 Mercedes A200. I had on the Agility deal which was all in my favour. It was way overkill for my needs but the deal was such that I just could not let it go by. I have to be honest, I will shed a tear the day I give it back. It is a brilliant motor car and the 1.6 turbo motor is very willing. I have explored the options around going the same route again but, being an accountant, the numbers just do not add up.
I spend an average of between 2.5 and 3 hours a day in the car in peak traffic and will prefer a frugal automatic hatch. Budget is somewhere around R250k, maybe R300k at a stretch. I would prefer to buy a demo with very low kilo?s and the majority of the warranty still in place. Second option is to get something new and register it as a 2018 model. I have long since outgrown my ego and buying a 19 voertsek M3 with 250k kilo?s on the clock for R200k is simply not an option. My goal is to do city travelling in relative comfort, with the minimum effort and cost and zero concern about maintaining the car other than keeping it clean.
Top of the pile at the moment is the Honda Jazz 1.5 with the CVT box. I have owned an Accord before and the service that I got from Honda was far better than what I get from Mercedes. Other options are the new Kio Rio and Hyundai I20, both are 1.4 with an older standard 5 speed auto box.
What am I missing? I?ll appreciate your thoughts.
