Hi All
I am trying to solve an issue with my turn table, before I rush out and buy a new stylus, I thought it best to ask the experts here.
The TT in question is a Rega Planar 3 with a Goldring 10-40 stylus.
The issue I am having is that I can not get rid of a persistent popping and crackling noise.
I have tired different records, I have wet and dry cleaning them.
I have tried to clean the stylus with my stylus brush.
I have even tried pleading with it, but nothing helps.
I am now suspecting the stylus needle is either worn out (the TT was bought second hand) or the needle is damaged or bent.
And then last question, if it is the stylus, does anyone have a replacement lying around?
Many thanks
Stuart
