Hi all, I am very much a newbie to the TT scene. I recently acquired a Garrard 86SB TT in very good nick (to the untrained eye), and has a tedelex (Excel) ES-70S cart. Unfortunately the sound that I'm getting is quite bass heavy and muddied. The only way that I'm getting a crisp sound is at very low tracking forces (0.8g), which then causes skipping. The stylus is new, cartridge looks aligned and the deck is level. I'm using an integrated phono stage on my Plinius 8150. Any suggestions on what I could try next/who to contact to help me with the setup? TIA.
