I recently replaced my integrated stereo amplifier (which was only being used as a pre) with a stand alone pre-amplifier. I basically felt the integrated amp was being wasted and could serve better elsewhere. It's power rating was very close to the power amps power rating I connected it with. I did not expect much change from the new pre-amplifier.
But boy, was I surprised. WOW! The new pre-amplifier sounds awesome. I dont think I will be looking for new gear any time soon. It's like I have found my sweet spot - and all very unexpectedly. I would expect speakers or amplifiers to make huge differences, not a pre-amplifier.
This "unimportant-ish" piece of kit astonished me. I am on cloud nine :angel:
