So a couple of months back I made some changes to my system: got a vintage Luxman PD284 (first foray to the dark side, so far guuud) & ditched the B&W CM7 for Dali baby Epicons. Still using my trusted Musical Fidelity amp and DAC (tried selling this one on the forum with no luck...will just keep it for now).
Overall I'm happy with the sound but improvements can be made, notably the source front. To sustain my lust for all things black and groovy, I thought of upgrading the TT + cartridge + phono (no idea which one - maybe you guys can advise). My vinyl collection is not big (50 or so records) but growing gradually (chasing quality over quantity). Alternatively I can upgrade the digital front - auditioned various kit & none blew me off (maybe I expected more). Here the focus is on a DAC - explored the streamer route and by large I'm not impressed by them except for a few. However I heard on this forum that DAC's don't improve the sound drastically.
I have not set a budget yet.
I would appreciate your advise. It has to be kit that will improve the sound audibly and balance the system (the speakers are reference class and the amp isn't bad either).
