Using a standard PC monitor to watch movies

Hello,

I have an extra PC monitor (with the normal blue plug).
What's the easiest way to add a media player or something to be able to watch some kids movies on it?
I know some of the cheaper no-name DVD players actually have such outputs.
Then I need to add sound of some sort, PC speakers would probably also do the trick.

Any suggestions?
