Value for money audiophile headphones

Hi All

I have a pair of B&W P7s but find the sound quit flat and the base too low.

I am looking for a value for money pair of headphones to use with my newly acquired zen dac.

I can get a pair of Sennheiser HD599 for R2000 and wondered if that would be a good place to start?
My budget is +- R5000 at the moment.

Any advice is appreciated.
