I?m looking for a little help in the vinyl department.
Some years ago, I attempted to find a happy medium between HT and Stereo (in my price range) and came out with the following:
Marantz 5400 AV Reciever
Paradigm Reference Studio 40 V4?s
To all intents and purposes I?ve been happy (enough). :
However, I?m considering heading toward a vinyl experience, I?m likely to invest in some new equipment for this. However, before diving in I?d like to do a bit of a test run. For this, I?ve been given an old Pioneer PL-200 Direct Drive Turntable.
I face the following problems:
I?d like replace cartridge/stylus (budget), and I have no idea where to start, other than the fact that I live in Cape Town
I?d like to by a small, cheap phono stage to plug in to my AV amp?s aux channel, once again, I have NO idea where to start.
I appreciate this is hardly an ideal setup, however I?m wanting to try something new (or should I say old) before I commit a larger expense.
