So today I noticed a distortion coming out of the right channel speaker. After a bit of fiddling I located it to the middle woofer. I took a look around it and gave it a very gentle push on the cone. Needless to say it was much stiffer than the other woofers, and was making a rubbing noise.

Upon closer inspection I discovered the voice cool is rubbing up against the magnet. When the speaker gets driven harder distortion gets more and more noticeable.

After a bit of research it seems like something that happens quite often. Any ideas as to a fix? Or is it going to be terminal for the woofer?
