Is it only me, am I getting deaf, or has the volume of some movie/series channels on DSTV's HD channels gone down recently? I own a HK Receiver which shows volume from -80 to 0 (somewhat strangely) and I have always used -30 as the benchmark volume, i.e. a comfortable but sufficiently loud volume to enjoy all the special effects and the more detailed sounds. My decoder is always set at max volume, I never change it. Lately I have to turn the HK up to round about -25 to get the same effect. That is quite a difference. I am referring mostly to Dolby Digital soundtracks, although I have picked it up with other formats like Pro Logic II and Logic 7 as well. Any one else had the same experience?
