Looking for some advice on what amp to keep, I've currently got a Sony Str da1200es which has served me well for the last few years, I mainly use the system for surround sound HT. I have been offered a brand new Pioneer VSX 521 K as a straight swop with a buddy of mine.
I know that the Pioneer does the HD codecs and HDMI pass through, which the Sony doesn't. But in terms of capability and sound what would you recommend?
I have a standard Sony 7.1 speaker system with a sub, so the speakers aren't the greatest, I am looking at upgrading in the near future, so what amp would drive better speakers better???
Also what sort of price could I ask for either amp
