Hi Guys,
I am fairly new to this and trying to figure out what receiver to buy. Let me explain:
I am currently running a projector (VGA) from my media center while the audio is going to the receiver. Now the receiver I dont have yet and I am limited in my budget (3.000 - 4.500); being a beginner and all
As I only require VGA, which can go directly to the projector, I have two broad options that will fit my budget; as I see them:
1) Buy a new AV entry level receiver, like the Sony DH-820, which is ready for any upgrade to HDMI I might want to do later.
2) Buy a second hand mid-level receiver that has no or limited HDMI connectivity but has great sound and supports 5.1
My gut feel tells me to go for option 2 but then I get all confused on which one?!?! Also what kind of price are we looking at, I got quoted anywhere from 2.500 to 10.000!
Any ideas, views and advice from the vast knowledgbase on the forum here would be appreciated!
Ps
anyone having a second hand AV receiver wanting to get rid of as well btw
Cheers,
Pieter
