Hi!
I'm looking for advice regarding an amplifier for a sub. I've got a car sub-woofer and box which I'd like to connect to my PC. Specs as follows:
Kenwood KFC-W300S
Peak Power: 600W
Rated Power (RMS?): 150W
Frequency Response: 30Hz - 600Hz
Impedance: 4 Ohms
I was originally looking at second hand hi-fi amps but car amps might be another option - I've got a spare computer power supply, although I'm not sure if it will be sufficient (19A on 12v rail).
Some questions:
1) Can you combine multiple channels together? e.g 4 x 50W into 1 x 200W
2) How many amps should I expect this sub to draw? Will the computer power supply work?
3) Should I get an amp with a built in crossover or filter? Do most come with these?
Anything else I should know about this setup?
