Along with a friend, I have invested in hardware and software that copies, rips and transfers the SACD layer (Trax from the ISO copy, etc)
The default is 88.2KHz 24 bit, but with a bit more work, you can get a 96KHz 24 bit copy. Its fairly time-consuming
On some (read 3 out of 10) compilations, looking at the ripped version, not all music is recorded to the SACD standard. Generally, the size of the file will be between 190% and 220% of the CD layer version (on hybrid SACDs). I know it is a SACD playing as the "SACD decoding light" displays on this Pioneer BDP-80FD SACD player (this overcomes the pit modulation protection) which is used to generate an ISO image of this disc
On the disc shown below, there are 13 tracks listed
Looking at a media player that displays the bit rate and sampling rate, it shows that of the 13 tracks, tracks 5 and 6 are normal 16 bit 44.1KHz recordings, with a bit rate of 1324 whereas all the others are 2117. Nevertheless, the SACD logo displays. There is no audible difference between the CD and SACD tracks for 5 and 6, whereas it is quite apparent in the others (better definition, more bass and a more rounded sound)
