Last week, I popped over to my local Hi Fi store where I had purchased stuff begining of 2019 and this was more a social drop it. He had a pair of Sonus Faber floor standers linked to a Mcintosh CDP, Pre and Power Amp + cables to suit. As it stood it was ~ R850,000 - the speakers alone was about R450,000.
He played a song (FLAC) and admittedly it sounded good. I would need to compare it to my Hi Fi.
What I am going to do is take in one of my well known CD's and see if R850K is gonna blow my mind.
I know the adage of diminishing returns, but really, has anyone on this forum expereinced a R1M vs a R100K system (using YOUR CD) and has it revealed so much more in the song's that you just must have a R1M Hi FI ?
