Which brand of AVR if audio capabilty is more important than bells & whistles

Hi

I'm need to replace my Rotel RSP-1068, its served me well but its time move on. Haven't got much experience with different AVR's, sticking to Rotel seems like a good choice, however it seems like they're behind on digital tech side of things.

What would you recommend if audio capability were more important to you, but you still want a one or two box solution? Perhaps Marantz, Anthem, Integra, Emotiva XMC-1?
