Hi Folks
As a newbie I've followed a couple of threads and realise that what I am learning most of you have already forgotten. Anyway here goes...
I am currently in the market for a new receiver and have been looking at the Aventage RX-A2020 and 3020 with the Yamaha blue ray combo, as well as the Marantz SR5008 with the Marantz blue ray player. All packages are available within a 4 or 5k range of each other. I feel somewhat loyal to Marantz as I own a 10 year old SR4007 (the left front channel of which has recently packed up) which has brought me many years of listening pleasure.
I have also just acquired a pair of B&W CM9 floor standers, but have the Marantz monitor 11 floor standeres as well with centre, sub, and bookshelves. I am inclined to move toward the B&W simply beacause my wife now wants black and no longer cherry speakers.....
Is one receiver preferential for music over another? I also watch movies but music remains my priority... am I missing out an an equally good, or better receiver not mentioned above in a similar price range?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
