Will my coverage be worse if I switch from Vodacom to MTN?

I’m thinking of doing a sim port to take advantage of Afrihost air prepaid data prices.

However, some folks have told me MTN is bad compared to Vodacom, especially during loadshedding.

If I port over, will my coverage and signal quality be worse than my current Vodacom sim? If so, it not worth it even if Vodacom's data prices are highway robbery (which they are).
