Hi,
My office is situated just across the road from my house and I established a wireless connection 2 years ago between the two. I used two of the same trendnet accesspoint/wireless routers as well as the same directional 13.5 dB antennae. Both the antennae is on 2 meter poles to ensure that I have direct line of sight. The two houses are about 40 meters apart max.
I never had a very fast connection, and were able to copy about 1 - 2 Mbps to the house / office (real Megabytes, not bits). This speed however has been decreasing steadily over the past few years and I am currently copying 19 GB at the staggering rate of 280 kilobytes per sec to my house (separate backup system).
Anyone have an idea how I can improve this speed, whether I need to change equipment and aerials/antennae ?
Regards
Morne
