After getting a Squeezebox Touch a few months ago, I finally got around to hooking it up and playing with it last night. What a revelation it has proven to be from a functionality and user-friendliness point of view .
The issue now is that I have a cable that runs from the Touch?s coax output (located at the listening position) to the DAC in the equipment rack in the front of the room. Aesthetically, this is unsightly. I also do not want to connect and disconnect the coax cable every time I want to play music.
I quite like operating the device directly on the touchscreen from the listening position and don?t care much for its remote control. My eyesight is also not too good, so operating the Squeezebox remotely from a distance is not preferable.
This got me thinking of a more permanent solution. Is there a wireless transmitter of some sort that one can use to eliminate the use of the coax cable? Any recommendations for such a setup? I do know that audio-quality and wireless technology don?t go hand in hand. So can I expect a significant deterioration in audio quality, even through the digital output?
